Orders, refunds and buyers

Where: Store > Orders, and the seller details in Store > Page.

Every sale in your store shows up in Store > Orders: who bought what, when, for how much, and its status (Paid, Refunded, Partially refunded, Disputed). The money itself is in your Stripe account.

The Orders tab

  • The list of sales, newest first, with the last 30 days summed up at the top.
  • Export CSV downloads your orders for your accounting.
  • Resend access sends the buyer the access email again, for the classic "I never got it".
  • Refund gives the buyer their money back (see below).

You also get an email for every sale.

Refunds

Pressing Refund on an order returns the full amount to the buyer from your Stripe balance, exactly as if you did it from your Stripe dashboard, and the buyer loses access to the product. If you refund from Stripe instead, Ignix picks it up and updates the order on its own. A partial refund, which you can only do from Stripe, marks the order as Partially refunded and the buyer keeps access.

Memberships are the exception: refunding a membership payment doesn't end the membership. To end it, cancel it on the product (see "Memberships").

Disputes

If a buyer disputes a charge with their bank, the order shows as Disputed. You answer the dispute from your Stripe dashboard. If you win it, the order goes back to Paid; if you lose it, the buyer loses access to what they bought.

Your refund policy

In Store > Page, under "Store refund policy", choose what you offer: no refunds, or a money-back guarantee of 7, 14 or 30 days or 6 months, with optional fine print (how to request it, conditions). It applies to all your products and shows on each product page next to the buy button. If one product needs a different policy, change it on that product.

The policy is a promise you make; Ignix doesn't refund anything automatically. When someone asks within the period, you refund them from Orders.

Terms of sale

You don't need a website for your terms. In Store > Page, write them under "Your terms of sale" (what you sell, how it's delivered, refunds, contact…) and they are published at bio.ignix.social/your-name/terms. If you already have them on your website, paste the link instead. Either way, buyers must accept them before paying.

What buyers accept at checkout

  • Your terms of sale, if you added them.
  • The withdrawal waiver: for digital content, a checkbox where the buyer accepts that once the download (or the course, or the membership) starts, they lose the 14-day right of withdrawal that EU law gives for online purchases. It is always shown for paid products.
  • "Send me news" (optional): if you turn on "Ask permission to send updates", an unticked checkbox lets buyers agree to hear from you by email.

Buyers in your Contacts

Every buyer becomes a contact in Contacts, with tags you can filter and automate on:

  • purchase: has bought something from you.
  • purchase:<product>: what they bought, by the product's address (for example purchase:recipe-guide).
  • updates: ticked "send me news", so they agreed to hear from you.

"My purchases"

Buyers don't create an account or a password. The email they get after buying has a link to "My purchases" in your store (bio.ignix.social/your-name/library), with their downloads, courses and memberships. The link expires after a while for security; if it has, they enter the email they bought with and get a new one. If they can't find the email at all, press Resend access on their order.
