Courses

Where: Store > Products > New product > Course.

A course is a product made of modules and lessons. Your buyers watch it in a course player inside "My purchases", with their progress saved, and anyone visiting the product page sees the curriculum before buying.

Building the curriculum

  1. Create a product of type Course and give it a title, description, cover and price, like any other product.
  2. Under "Curriculum", add the first module (for example, "Introduction") and then its lessons.
  3. Drag the ⠿ handle to reorder modules and lessons, or move a lesson to another module.

Each lesson can have:

  • A video, in one of two ways (see below).
  • Lesson text: explanation, steps, links.
  • Lesson files: worksheets, templates, slides… that buyers download from the lesson.
  • "Unlocks … days after purchase" (drip): leave it empty and the lesson is open from day one; put 7 and it opens a week after each person buys. Buyers see the date it unlocks.

To publish a course it needs at least one lesson with content, plus what every paid product needs (see "Downloads, bundles and free gifts").

  • Uploaded video (MP4, MOV or WebM): private. It is only streamed to your buyers, inside the player, and they can skip forward and back. It counts towards your store storage (up to 4 GB per file).
  • YouTube link: costs no storage, but be aware that anyone with the link can watch it, even if the video is unlisted on YouTube. Use it for content you don't mind leaking, or upload the video instead.

What your buyers see

After paying they get an email with a link to "My purchases" (no password needed). The course player shows:

  • The curriculum, with completed and locked lessons marked.
  • A progress bar ("3 of 12 lessons completed").
  • A "Mark complete & continue" button that takes them to the next lesson.
  • When they come back, it opens where they left off.

Before paying, buyers tick a box accepting that once they start the course they lose the 14-day right of withdrawal that EU law gives for online purchases. The box is always there; you don't have to add it.

Selling a course

A course can be sold on its own, inside a bundle, or included in a membership. If you only want members to have it, leave it unpublished and include it in the membership: it shows as "Included only".

What courses don't include

Quizzes, certificates, comments under lessons, and a community or forum are not part of Ignix courses. If you run a community, put the link to your private group in a membership's "Note for members".
