YouTube
A YouTube scheduler that fills in what YouTube asks for
Videos and Shorts from the same calendar as your other networks — with the thumbnail, tags, playlist, privacy and the two disclosure flags YouTube wants, set before you press schedule.
Ignix is for you if…
Not a feature list — the people it was built for. If three of these sound like you, you will feel at home.
- You upload the video and then spend twenty minutes in YouTube Studio finishing the rest.
- You have had a video go live without its thumbnail, its tags or its playlist.
- You post the same clip as a Short, a Reel and a TikTok and want to do it once.
- You want the made-for-kids and AI-disclosure boxes to be a decision, not an accident.
- You want to see which upload the audience actually watched.
YouTube is the network where the upload is the easy part. What takes the time is everything around it: the title under 100 characters, the description, the thumbnail that decides the click, the tags, the playlist, the privacy setting, and the two boxes — made for kids, AI-generated content — that change how the video behaves for years.
Most schedulers push the file and leave the rest for you to finish in YouTube Studio afterwards, which means the video goes live half-done at 9 pm. Ignix sends all of it with the upload, and refuses to queue a video that is missing what YouTube will reject.
Everything below comes from the same rules the composer enforces: limits, formats and fields, exactly as YouTube’s API accepts them.
What you can schedule on YouTube
One video per post, in any format YouTube accepts. Whether it becomes a Short is YouTube’s decision, and it is worth knowing how it makes it.
Video
One file — mp4, mov, avi, wmv, flv, 3gp or webm — with a title of up to 100 characters and a description of up to 5,000. Custom thumbnail (JPEG or PNG, 1280×720, up to 2 MB), tags, category, playlist, privacy and first comment.
Shorts
The same upload: YouTube files a vertical video of up to three minutes as a Short on its own, with no flag in the API. Shorts do not take a custom thumbnail, which is why Ignix offers the thumbnail field only for horizontal video.
The six things that make a scheduled YouTube video go wrong
Not the file — the fields. Each is checked in the composer before the post is queued.
The title was cut, or the description rejected
YouTube’s limits are hard: 100 characters for the title, 5,000 for the description. A tool that lets you type more sends a request YouTube refuses at publish time, when you are not looking.
In Ignix: Both fields count live against YouTube’s real limit, and a post over either cannot be queued.
It went out as a Short when it was meant to be a video — or the other way round
YouTube decides by the file: vertical and up to three minutes is a Short. There is no switch in the API to override it.
In Ignix: The composer offers the thumbnail field only for horizontal video, so what you see matches what YouTube will do — and the aspect-ratio check tells you which one you are uploading.
The thumbnail never applied
A custom thumbnail must be JPEG or PNG, 1280×720 and under 2 MB — and YouTube ignores it on Shorts.
In Ignix: The field validates the file before scheduling, and it is not offered where YouTube would ignore it.
Comments disappeared and the bell stopped working
The “made for kids” flag — COPPA — permanently disables comments, notifications, personalised ads, end screens and cards on that video. It is easy to tick by habit.
In Ignix: It is off by default, with the consequences written next to the switch, so it is a decision and not an accident.
The AI-disclosure box
YouTube increasingly requires you to disclose altered or synthetic content that could pass for real people, places or events. Missing it is a policy problem later.
In Ignix: A dedicated flag on every YouTube post, sent with the upload.
Tags and playlist not there after publishing
Tags (up to 500 characters in total) and the playlist are applied to the live video, not to the upload request — a tool that sends them too early loses them.
In Ignix: Ignix applies the tags once the video is live and adds it to the playlist you picked from your channel’s own list.
The Short and the full video from one calendar
The vertical cut goes to YouTube as a Short, to Instagram as a Reel and to TikTok, from the same post with the caption adapted per network. The horizontal version goes to YouTube with its thumbnail and its playlist. One calendar shows both, and analytics tells you which one the audience watched.
Your best hour, from your own channel
Analytics shows when your own published videos earned the most, weekday by hour, and the composer suggests those slots. It is built from your channel’s numbers, not from a generic chart.
On the official API, with no password
Ignix publishes through YouTube’s official API. You authorise the channel from Google’s own sign-in, we store no password, and you can revoke the access from your Google account at any time. Everything you schedule shows up in YouTube Studio like any other upload.

Questions people ask
Can I schedule YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Upload a vertical video of up to three minutes and YouTube files it as a Short on its own — there is no Shorts flag in the API. Shorts do not take a custom thumbnail, so that field is offered only for horizontal video.
What video formats are accepted?
mp4, mov, avi, wmv, flv, 3gp and webm. Title up to 100 characters, description up to 5,000, both hard limits checked in the composer.
Can I set the thumbnail, tags and playlist when scheduling?
Yes: thumbnail (JPEG or PNG, 1280×720, up to 2 MB, horizontal video only), tags up to 500 characters in total, category, and a playlist picked from your channel. Tags and playlist are applied once the video is live.
Can I schedule as unlisted or private first?
Yes. Privacy is a field on every post — public, unlisted or private — so you can publish privately, review in YouTube Studio and make it public when you want.
What is the made-for-kids switch?
YouTube’s COPPA flag. Turning it on permanently disables comments, the notification bell, personalised ads, end screens and cards on that video. Ignix leaves it off unless you turn it on.
Does it publish automatically?
Yes, through the official API at the scheduled time — no reminder to your phone, no manual step in YouTube Studio.
