Getting paid: connecting Stripe

Where: Store > Payments.

Ignix doesn't collect money for you. Every sale is charged on your own Stripe account and the money goes from Stripe to your bank. You are the seller, buyers buy directly from you, and Ignix only provides the technology. That's why Ignix takes 0% commission: the only fees are Stripe's.

You need this to sell paid products in your store and to charge for appointments when people book. A page with links, or free gifts in exchange for an email, works without it.

Before you start

  • Create your page first (Store > Page). Stripe asks for your website, and your website is your Ignix page: Ignix sends its address to Stripe so you don't have to type it.
  • "What do you sell?": two or three sentences in your own words about what you sell, to whom and how they pay. Stripe reviews it, and you can change it in the next step.
  • Only a team admin can connect the Stripe account.

Connecting

  1. In Store > Payments, press Connect with Stripe.
  2. Stripe asks for an ID document, the bank account where you want the money, and your seller details (individual or company, and your address). If you already use Stripe, you can connect that same account.
  3. It takes about 10 minutes. If you stop halfway, come back to Store > Payments and press "Continue on Stripe" to pick it up.

The tab then shows where you are: details still missing, details under review, or "Your Stripe account is ready" with two checks, "You can take payments" and "Stripe sends the money to your bank". If Stripe later asks for more information, you'll see it here too; complete it from your Stripe dashboard ("Open my Stripe dashboard") so payments don't get paused.

It's a standard Stripe account in your name (Stripe Connect Standard): you log in to Stripe yourself, see every payment there, and the products and coupons you create in Ignix appear in it too.

Seller details and terms of sale

To publish paid products, fill in your seller details in Store > Page: your name or company name and a contact email (tax number and address are optional). They appear on your pages as "Sold by …".

In the same place you can write your terms of sale directly in Ignix, with no website needed (they are published at bio.ignix.social/your-name/terms), or link to the ones on your website. If you add them, buyers have to accept them before paying. More in "Orders, refunds and buyers".

Money, payouts and fees

  • Payouts: Stripe sends the money to your bank on its usual schedule. How often and how fast is set in your Stripe account, not in Ignix.
  • Fees: Stripe charges its fee on each payment, directly on your account. Ignix adds nothing on top.
  • Payment methods: buyers pay on Stripe's checkout page, by card and with whatever other methods you have turned on in Stripe.
  • Taxes: taxes on your sales (VAT and others) are your responsibility. Ignix doesn't calculate tax or issue invoices for you.

If you disconnect it

If you remove Ignix's access from your Stripe account, the store and paid appointments stop taking payments, and Store > Payments tells you so. Connect it again to keep selling. Past orders stay where they are.
