Memberships

Where: Store > Products > New product > Membership.

A membership is a subscription your followers pay every month or every year, in your own Stripe account. While it is active they have access to everything you include in it; when it ends, the access ends too.

Setting one up

  1. Create a product of type Membership with its title, description, cover and price.
  2. Under "Billed", choose Monthly or Yearly. The price is charged every period until the member cancels. If you change it later, the new price only applies to new members.
  3. Under "What the membership includes", add any of these (at least one):
  • Products: your downloads and courses. Members get them while they stay subscribed.
  • Files of its own, just for members.
  • A note for members: a welcome message, the link to your private Telegram or WhatsApp group, the times of your live sessions… Only members see it, in "My purchases", and links in it can be tapped.

Then publish it and add it to your page.

Each membership has one price and one billing period. To offer two levels (for example, monthly and yearly, or basic and premium), create two membership products.

Members-only content

If something should only be available to members, leave that product unpublished and include it in the membership. It isn't sold on its own and shows as "Included only" in your product list. If it is published, it's sold separately as well and members also get it.

What members see

After paying, members get an email with a link to "My purchases" (no password). There they find what the membership includes, the note, the renewal date and the price. They can cancel any time from there: they keep access until the end of the period they already paid and aren't charged again. Until that date they can undo the cancellation with "Stay a member".

Your members list

On the membership product you see the Members: how many are active, what that adds up to per month, and each member's status (renews on…, ends on…, payment due). You can cancel a member from there, which works the same way: access until the end of their paid period, no more charges.

Renewals, refunds and coupons

  • Every renewal is an order in Store > Orders, so your sales history and CSV export include them.
  • Refunding a payment (from Orders or from Stripe) gives that money back but doesn't end the membership. To end it, cancel it on the product.
  • Coupons on a membership apply to the first payment only. Renewals are charged at the full price.

When a payment fails

If a renewal is declined, Stripe retries it over the following days and the member keeps access in the meantime; in "My purchases" they see that their last payment didn't go through. If a retry succeeds, nothing changes. If the retries run out, the subscription ends and so does the access.

What memberships don't include

Free trials, several prices or tiers inside one membership, and a community or forum built into Ignix. For a community, use the note for members to send people to your group.
