The Sprout Social alternative

Enterprise-grade, priced per seat — $249 each on Standard, before the AI add-on.

Ignix is for you if…

Not a feature list — the people it was built for. If three of these sound like you, you will feel at home.

  • You are a team of two to five paying enterprise prices.
  • You want an AI that answers the people who write to you, not only your charts.
  • You want a comment to trigger a DM by itself.
  • You want to add a teammate without adding another seat.

Sprout Social vs Ignix at a glance

Sprout Social is the serious one. Its unified inbox, its listening and its reporting are better than ours, and it is built for teams that answer to a marketing director. We are not going to argue with that.

The argument is the invoice. Sprout charges per SEAT, per month, and the figure depends on how you pay. On monthly billing it is $99 for Essentials, $249 for Standard, $399 for Professional and $499 for Advanced. Commit to a year and those become $79, $199, $299 and $399. Three people on Standard — the plan this comparison is about — is $747 a month, or $597 if you pay for the year up front, before anyone talks about listening or premium analytics.

Sprout now has an AI agent of its own, Trellis, included on every plan with 100 credits per user a month, and it is worth being precise about what it does. Trellis answers questions about your social data and builds the charts — a sentiment trend, a multi-year analysis — rather than answering the people who write to you. If a team needs more than the included credits, Trellis Plus is $35 per user a month on monthly billing, or $28 on annual, on top of the seat.

Ignix is $79 a month with an unlimited team. Same three people, same shared inbox, plus the part Sprout is not built for: a comment on Instagram that triggers a DM by itself, and an AI agent that learns your business from your own documents and answers on every channel — including a chat widget on your website.

Which one is right for you?

Choose Sprout Social if…

Choose Sprout Social if you are an organisation with a social media team, a budget signed off in advance, and a real need for listening and executive reporting. It is a more complete platform than ours in those areas, its inbox is better, and at that size the per-seat price is simply what everything in the category costs.

Choose Ignix if…

Choose Ignix if $249 per person is not a number that fits your business. If you are one to five people, want everyone in the same inbox without counting seats, and need the two things Sprout points elsewhere: a comment that becomes a DM by itself, and an AI agent aimed at answering your audience rather than analysing it.

What three seats actually cost

Sprout's price is per seat and per month, and both halves matter. The headline on their site is the annual rate; the monthly rate is about a quarter higher, and their own FAQ lists both figures side by side.

Monthly: $99 for Essentials, $249 for Standard, $399 for Professional, $499 for Advanced. Annual: $79, $199, $299, $399. Essentials and Standard cover five social profiles each; unlimited profiles start at Professional.

So a team of three on Standard is $747 a month, or $597 if you pay for the year up front. A fourth person is another $249. That is the arithmetic that makes per-seat pricing feel reasonable at fifty people and painful at three.

Ignix is $79 a month with an unlimited team, and the number does not move when someone new joins. That is not the better deal in every case — at a hundred people with a listening budget, Sprout is a different class of product — but between one and five people it is not close.

Where each product points its AI

Both tools have an AI agent now, so the useful question is not whether but at what. Sprout's is called Trellis and it comes with every plan: 100 credits per user a month, with Trellis Plus at $28 to $35 per user a month if a team needs more.

Trellis reads your social data and answers questions about it. Their own explanation of credits gives it away: a narrow request like a sentiment trend chart costs very little, while a broad multi-source or multi-year analysis costs more. It is an analyst, and by their own description a good one.

Sprout also has Bot Builder, which builds chatbots for Facebook Messenger and X, and AI Assist for drafting and improving replies. So the conversation side is not empty — it is aimed at helping a person answer faster rather than at answering without one.

Ignix points its AI the other way. Sparky learns your business from your own documents and website and answers as your business — in DMs, in comments and in a chat widget on your own site — then hands the conversation to a person when it should. The comment-to-DM automation runs on Instagram and Facebook, and the flow behind it can check whether someone follows you, wait, branch and split-test. A different job, aimed at a different size of company.

Questions people ask before switching

Is switching from Sprout Social a big job?
The setup is not — accounts, schedule, inbox rules. The bigger question is usually the team: Sprout charges per seat, so if five people are in there today, check what those five cost you a year against a flat plan where team members are included.
Does Ignix have approvals and roles for a team?
Yes: workspaces per client, roles, and an approval flow where a post waits for a reviewer before it goes out. It is built for a small agency rather than a hundred-person marketing department, which is the honest line between the two.
What does Sprout Social actually cost per month?
Per seat: $99 for Essentials, $249 for Standard, $399 for Professional and $499 for Advanced on monthly billing, and $79, $199, $299 and $399 if you commit to a year. Multiply by the number of people who need access — that is the number worth comparing, not the headline on the pricing page.
Does Sprout Social have an AI agent?
Yes, Trellis, included on every plan with 100 credits per user a month and $28 to $35 per user a month beyond that. It analyses your social data and builds charts from it. What it is not is an agent that answers your customers on its own — for that Sprout has Bot Builder on Messenger and X, and AI Assist to help a person write faster.
Is there a cheaper Sprout Social alternative for a small team?
That is most of the reason this page exists. Sprout is priced for organisations that buy software by the seat, and below about ten people that model stops making sense. Ignix is $79 a month with an unlimited team, with the shared inbox, the scheduling and the automation included — and without the listening depth and executive reporting Sprout is genuinely better at.

The verdict

This is not a comparison of features, it is a comparison of scale. Sprout Social is excellent and expensive, sold by the seat to companies that buy software that way. If you recognise yourself in that, buy it. If the idea of paying $747 a month — $597 if you commit to a year — so three people can answer Instagram comments sounds absurd for the size of your business, that is exactly the gap we exist in. And note where each product points its AI: Trellis is a good analyst of your numbers, and it is not the thing that replies to the person asking for your price list at eleven at night.
