An agency manager with every client account in one placeIgnix vs Metricool

The Metricool alternative

Deeper analytics than ours. But a Flow sends one reply per keyword — ours branch, and an AI agent answers.

Ignix is for you if…

Not a feature list — the people it was built for. If three of these sound like you, you will feel at home.

  • You want a comment to start a real conversation — buttons, questions, conditions — not one reply.
  • You want an AI that answers customers, not replies written in advance.
  • You want a chat on your website too.
  • You want a flat price with unlimited contacts, whatever the number of brands.

Metricool vs Ignix at a glance

Metricool is a Spanish social media analytics and scheduling tool, popular with freelancers and agencies running several brands at once. Its reporting genuinely goes deeper than ours — competitor benchmarking, a Looker Studio connector, unlimited history — and from fifteen brands up, its price per brand is hard to beat.

It automates now, too, and we should say so plainly, because half the comparison pages on the internet still claim it does not. Metricool Flows turns an Instagram comment into a DM, replies to keywords inside DMs, answers story reactions, handles TikTok comments and reposts on X. It rotates up to three different replies so a hundred people do not all get the same sentence. It comes with every paid plan. If what you need is “comment LINK and I’ll send it”, Flows does exactly that.

Where it stops is one step later. A Flow is one keyword and one reply, built in three steps: pick the post, write the message, switch it on. That simplicity is a real feature — and it is also the ceiling. There is nowhere to add a condition, a delay, a tag, a follower check or a second branch, because the model is one trigger and one message. And it reaches three networks: Instagram, TikTok and X.

Ignix is a flat price with unlimited contacts, a visual flow builder with conditions and A/B branches across fourteen networks, and an AI agent that learns your business from your own documents and answers on its own — in DMs, in comments and in a chat widget on your website — then hands over to a human when it matters.

Which one is right for you?

Choose Metricool if…

Choose Metricool if analytics is the job. If you manage many brands, live inside the reports, and want competitor benchmarking and the deepest per-network data at the lowest price per brand, it is very hard to beat — especially from fifteen brands up. And if your automation needs are “comment a keyword, get a link”, Flows covers that without you paying for anything else.

Choose Ignix if…

Choose Ignix when the automation needs to think. When the flow should check whether someone follows you before it sends the link, wait a day and nudge once, tag the contact, or split-test two openings. When a question arrives that no keyword covers and something still has to answer it. And when the same automations should reach WhatsApp, LinkedIn, YouTube and your own website, not three networks.

What Metricool Flows actually does

It is worth being precise here, because most pages comparing these two tools are still telling you Metricool has no automation at all. It does, on every paid plan, and it is called Flows.

On Instagram, a Flow watches a post for a keyword in the comments and sends a direct message to whoever writes it. It can also trigger on a keyword inside a DM, and on a reaction to a story. You can write up to three different replies for the same Flow so that a hundred people do not all receive the same sentence — the same reason ours rotate.

On TikTok it replies to comments and helps you moderate them. On X it reposts your own posts after a delay, and can delete the repost later. Everything a Flow sends also appears in the Metricool inbox, so you can see what went out and to whom.

Setting one up takes three steps: choose a published or scheduled post, write the reply, switch it on. That is genuinely well made, and for a creator running a link-in-comment campaign it is all the machinery the job needs.

Ours begins where that ends. The same comment-to-DM exists, and then the flow can check whether the person follows you and ask them to before it sends the link; wait a day and nudge once if nobody opened it; write a custom field on the contact; split the audience between two openings to see which wins; and hand the conversation to a person the moment it stops being a script. It is a difference of depth, not of existence — and that is a more useful thing to know before you choose.

The parts of Metricool that cost extra

Metricool sells brands. A plan covers a number of them and the price steps up as you add more. It is a clean model and, at volume, a cheap one — it is why agencies like it, and we are not going to argue with the arithmetic.

Two things sit outside the plan. Connecting an X account is a paid add-on on every tier, including the most expensive one, and it is charged per account — so an agency running X for its clients pays for each of them on top of the plan. And Advanced Analytics, the deeper reporting, is a separate upgrade, which is worth knowing if the analytics are the reason you are choosing Metricool in the first place.

The AI is metered as well: five credits per brand per month on Free, twenty on Starter, thirty-five on Advanced. That does not go far if you write captions with it daily, and it is the one place where their pricing behaves like everybody else’s in the category.

Ignix counts one thing: the accounts you connect. Contacts, messages in and out, followers, scheduled posts, automations and every reply your team writes by hand are never counted, and text AI is unlimited within fair use. X costs nothing extra. Whether that comes out cheaper depends on how you count — they sell brands and we sell accounts, and an agency with fifteen client brands will almost always pay less there.

Questions people ask before switching

Is Ignix cheaper than Metricool?
It depends how you count, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. They sell brands; we sell connected accounts. An agency running fifteen client brands will almost certainly pay less on Metricool. A creator or a small business with a handful of accounts who also wants the automation, the AI agent and the website chat usually pays less here — because on Metricool those are either missing or another line on the invoice.
Does Ignix do comment-to-DM like Metricool Flows?
Yes, and then some. The trigger is the same — a keyword in a comment, in a DM or on a story reaction. What differs is what happens next: a Flow sends its reply and stops, and here the automation can check whether they follow you, wait, branch on an answer, tag the contact, split-test two versions, or hand over to a human.
Can I move my scheduled posts and my analytics across?
The posting side you rebuild: connect the same accounts, set your times, drop the queue on the calendar. Historic analytics stay with Metricool, so export the reports you care about before you leave — that part does not transfer between any two tools in this category, ours included.
Which is better for an agency with a lot of clients?
Metricool, if the work is reporting on many brands: its price per brand at that scale is genuinely hard to beat and the client reports are good. Ignix, if each of those clients needs automations that do more than send one link, and you would rather not add a chatbot tool on top. Workspaces per client, roles and an approval step before anything goes out are here either way.
Does Ignix report as well as Metricool?
For scheduling and performance, yes — reach, engagement, follower growth and best times, per account and per post, with PDF reports. Metricool goes deeper on competitor tracking and custom dashboards, and its Advanced Analytics add-on deeper still. If the reports are the product you are buying, they win that one.
Do I have to pay extra to connect X?
Not here — X is included like any other account. On Metricool it is a paid add-on on every tier, including the top one, and it is charged per account.

The verdict

This one is closer than it used to be, and pretending otherwise would not survive five minutes on their website. Metricool added Flows, and Flows is good at what it does: a keyword, a reply, three variations so it does not sound robotic. For a lot of creators that is the entire requirement. The line falls where a single exchange stops being enough. A Flow cannot ask a question and branch on the answer, cannot wait a day, cannot check whether someone follows you, and cannot handle the message it was not scripted for — and it only reaches three networks, with X charged as an add-on on top. If your work lives in the conversation after the first reply, that is the gap. If you spend your day in reports across fifteen brands, stay where you are.
