How to manage multiple Instagram accounts

Most tools charge you a second subscription for a second account. Here is how to run them all from one plan, one calendar and one inbox.

The moment you take on a second Instagram account — a client, a side project, the shop as well as your own name — most social tools stop being a tool and start being a bill. Some sell "social sets" where a second Instagram profile is a second set. The chatbot ones charge a subscription per connected account.

That is a pricing decision on their side, not a technical limit. Connecting two accounts of the same network is the same work as connecting one.

This guide covers the whole thing: connecting several accounts, keeping clients separate so nothing gets posted to the wrong profile, and what it actually costs.

  1. Know how many accounts your plan includes

    Billing

Accounts are a pool, not a per-network allowance. Whatever your plan includes, you spend on whichever mix you like — three Instagram profiles and nothing else is a perfectly normal way to use it.

Spark ($19/month) includes 1 account, Blaze ($29) 3, Scale ($39) 5 and Inferno ($69) 10. If you need one more than your plan holds, an extra account is $6 a month — no jump to the next tier.

Tip · Work out the number you need before you pick a plan. Going from Spark to Blaze is cheaper than Spark plus two extra accounts.

  2. Connect the first one

My Accounts → Connect a new account

Pick Instagram from the grid and authorise the connection on Instagram’s own site. Ignix never asks for your password — you approve access there and come back.

If the connection fails, the usual cause is being logged into a different Instagram account in the same browser. Log out of that network first, then try again.

  3. Connect the second, and the third

My Accounts → Connect a new account

Exactly the same steps. There is no separate flow for "additional" accounts and nothing extra to buy while you are inside your plan’s allowance.

The one thing to watch is which Instagram account your browser is logged into when you authorise. That is what decides which profile gets connected — not anything you choose inside Ignix.

Tip · Connecting several accounts of the same network is easiest in a private window: log into the account you want, authorise, close the window, repeat.

  4. Keep clients apart with workspaces

    Workspaces → New workspace

If the accounts belong to different clients, put each one in its own workspace. A workspace holds its own accounts, its own calendar, its own inbox and its own automations, so there is no way to schedule a client’s post onto another client’s profile by picking the wrong name from a list.

One workspace can still hold several accounts of the same network — workspaces separate clients, not networks.

Tip · If all the accounts are yours, skip this. One workspace with three Instagram profiles is simpler than three workspaces with one each.

  5. Schedule to one, some or all of them

    Posts → New post

Write the post once and tick the accounts it goes to. Each network gets its own preview, so you see how the same text will land on Instagram and on the rest before anything goes out.

The calendar and the queue filter by account, which is what makes three profiles readable: you can look at one client’s week without the other two on top of it.

  6. Answer all of them in one inbox

    Inbox

DMs, comments and reviews from every connected account land in the same inbox, tagged with which account they came from. You reply from there, and the reply goes out from the right profile.

This is the part that changes the day-to-day more than the scheduling. Three Instagram accounts means three apps to check on a phone; here it is one list.

What Instagram itself decides

Two limits come from Meta and no tool can remove them — not this one and not the one you are comparing it against. Worth knowing before you plan around them.

The account has to be professional
Business or Creator, connected to a Facebook Page. That is Meta’s requirement for any API access, ours included. Switching is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app.
Automated DM replies live in a 24-hour window
An automation can reply within 24 hours of the person’s last message. After that only certain message types are allowed. It affects automations, never scheduling.
One Facebook Page per Instagram account
Each professional Instagram profile connects through its own Page. If two of your accounts share a Page, Meta will not let both through — give each one its own.

Questions that come up

Is a second Instagram account a second subscription?
No. Accounts come out of your plan’s pool, and an extra one beyond it is $6 a month. That is the difference people usually arrive here looking for.
Can I mix networks, or do the accounts have to be Instagram?
Mix them however you like. Five accounts can be five Instagram profiles, or two Instagram, a TikTok, a LinkedIn and a WhatsApp. The pool does not care which network you spend it on.
Do I need a workspace per client?
Only if you want the separation. Workspaces exist so an agency cannot post a client’s content to another client’s account. If every account is yours, one workspace is less to manage.
What happens to the extra accounts if I downgrade?
You are asked to choose which accounts to keep before the change goes through, rather than having some disconnected at random. Nothing is deleted without you deciding.

While the accounts are all in one place

So is everything else.

Connecting three profiles to one plan is the part people come looking for. It is also the least interesting thing that happens once they are all in the same tool.

The accounts stop being three separate jobs and start being one.

One calendar for all of them

Write once, tick the accounts, see a preview per network. Filter the week by account when three at a time is too much to read.

One inbox for all of them

Every DM, comment and review from every account in a single list, tagged with where it came from. Replies go out from the right profile.

Automations on each of them

A comment on any connected account can trigger a DM, ask for a follow first and capture the lead — without anyone watching.

And an AI that answers as you

Trained on your own documents and site, replying in your voice across every channel, and handing over to a human the moment it should.

Unlimited contacts, unlimited messages and unlimited automations on every plan. The number that changes between plans is how many accounts you connect — never how much you are allowed to use it.

Plans start at $19 a month, with 3 accounts from $29. Seven days free and you can cancel in two clicks.
