Facebook Pages get the comments Instagram gets, with one advantage: Messenger. The private reply to a comment opens a Messenger conversation, and Messenger allows richer messages than Instagram DMs — cards with images, carousels, files — once the person has answered.

Connect the Page
Authorise Ignix from Facebook with the Page you manage. Personal profiles are not eligible; Pages are, and you can connect several.

Choose the post and the trigger
One post, all of them or the next one you publish; a keyword or any comment. The same Page can run different flows on different posts.

Write both replies
The public reply in the thread and the private Messenger message: text and buttons first, images, cards and files as soon as the person answers.

Facebook’s rules for comment-to-DM
Meta’s rules, enforced in the builder.
- One private reply per comment, 7 days
- Same as Instagram: a single private reply, within seven days of the comment. It carries text and up to three buttons.
- Rich content after the reply
- Cards, carousels, images and files go out once the person has answered the first message.
- Pages, not profiles
- Comments on a Page’s posts qualify; a comment left by another Page does not get a private reply and the engine skips it.
- The 24-hour window
- After the person’s last message you have 24 hours to send freely. Sequences respect it automatically.
- Restrictions pause the Page
- If Meta temporarily restricts a Page’s messaging, its flows pause until the restriction ends.

Questions people ask
Does it work on Facebook groups or personal profiles?
No — Meta’s messaging API covers Pages. Comments on a Page’s posts, including Reels and Stories, can trigger the flow.
Can the DM include images or a PDF?
Yes, after the first reply: Meta limits the private reply to text and buttons, and everything richer goes out as soon as the person answers.
Can I run the same automation on Instagram and Facebook?
Yes, as two flows with the same content, because the networks’ rules differ slightly — Instagram checks followers, Facebook allows carousels. Templates make the second one a minute’s work.
What happens if the comment is from another business Page?
It is skipped: Meta does not allow private replies to Page comments. You still see the comment in the inbox and can answer it publicly.
Is this allowed by Facebook?
